Overview

Hyperia Proximity is a "Find My Nearest..." software component that allows a website visitor to find their nearest showroom, branch, shop or whatever else you decide. It works by finding all the places located within a certain mile radius of the specified location. Types of location recognised include street, town, post code or any other part of an address.

Proximity uses a 'web service' provided by Postcode Anywhere to obtain grid reference data for all the locations. For relatively small search volumes, this is far more cost-effective than licensing the Postal Address File from the Royal Mail. Postcode Anywhere operates on a simple transactional pricing model whereby you are charged for each address lookup.

Hyperia Proximity builds upon the Store Locator service offered by Postcode Anywhere by offering greater features and flexibility, including:

  • Data caching for enhanced speed and reduced postcode lookup costs
  • Complete customisation of the search results pages
  • Google Maps integration to let you plot locations on to street or area maps and embed the maps directly into your web application.
